He performed a variety of roles in retail and international banking before joining the Bank’s wealth management team as a Financial Adviser in 1999. There he gained his regulatory qualifications before making the transition to Alliance & Leicester/Santander, then Nationwide Building Society as a Financial Planning Manager. He then became an Independent Financial Adviser with an IFA practice in Leicester. In 2015, the opportunity was taken to start Intelligent Financial Advisory Ltd with his colleagues. He is delighted that, with the help and teamwork of his colleagues, the business has flourished and is attracting high calibre advisers and a dedicated support team to provide an excellent financial service its growing number of clients.
Mihir provides holistic financial advice to individuals and businesses, including an Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning service. He is an Affiliate member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
In his spare time, Mihir is involved in charity fund raising and awareness for CCUK (Crohn’s and Colitis UK). He enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, sports, reading and gardening.
Sukhpal left university with a degree in Business and Law. He gained his financial services experience at RBS Group in 2005, where he worked for 7 years. He qualified as a Mortgage Adviser and within the next year had qualified as a Financial Adviser. He provided advice to individuals, private clients and businesses. Whilst at RBS Group he also worked within Wealth Management at Coutts. Prior to setting up Intelligent Financial Advisory, Sukhpal worked as a Financial Planning Manager for Nationwide.
The driving force behind becoming an Independent Financial Adviser was the desire to provide his clients with a truly holistic advice process enabling them to have access to the best and most suitable products throughout the whole of the market. This led to the idea of starting a financial advisory company, which is built on trust and offers truly independent advice. Sukhpal approached his colleagues and together they started Intelligent Financial Advisory Ltd in 2015. He is delighted that, with the help and teamwork of his colleagues, the business has flourished and is attracting high calibre advisers and a dedicated support team to provide an excellent financial service to its growing number of clients.
When Sukhpal is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing and watching sport, travelling and gardening. He is currently studying towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner. Sukhpal has recently become a Trustee for Rugby Gurdwara and enjoys helping the local community.
Ramsy left university and graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Computing in 2001 and started his working life as an IT Trainer for a bespoke software company. After a few years, he reassessed his career prospects and went to work for Alliance and Leicester, starting off as a cashier. Within 18 months, Ramsy had progressed to Savings Adviser, then Protection Adviser and finally a Financial Adviser. In 2009 he moved to Halifax and continued his role as a Financial Adviser. In 2012, Ramsy left the banking industry and went to work for a local Financial Advisory firm. Whilst working there, he studied for further advanced financial industry qualifications and attained the title of “Pension Transfer Specialist” and “Chartered Financial Planner” which is classified as the ‘gold standard’ of financial advice. In 2015, the opportunity was taken to start Intelligent Financial Advisory Ltd with his colleagues. He is delighted that, with the help and teamwork of his colleagues, the business has flourished and is attracting high calibre advisers and a dedicated support team to provide an excellent financial service its growing number of clients.
In his spare time, Ramsy likes to exercise and go to the gym when possible. He enjoys watching most sports and spending time with family and friends. As his children get older, he is looking forward to being able to travel with them more.
Sonni has over 20 years’ experience working within the financial planning sector. Prior to this he was a sales engineer for Edmundson Electrical. In 1997 Sonni qualified as a Financial Adviser and for 15 years was a Financial Planner for Nationwide Building Society. Whilst there, he worked with clients to both preserve and grow their wealth.
Sonni then chose to join Intelligent Financial Advisory Ltd with his colleagues, as their values are directly aligned to his own, which is placing the client at the heart of all decision making. He believes very strongly about building long term and lasting relationships with his clients and the foundation to this is built on trust and doing what is right for them every time.
In partnership with IFA, Sonni can continue to help his clients by understanding their individual needs and provide them with the most suitable advice based on an unrestricted and independent advice model.
Outside of work, Sonni enjoys spending time with his wife Tania and daughters, Seetal and Carina. He also enjoys socialising with their friends, going to the theatre, eating out and travelling.
Jas began his financial career in 1997 working for Alliance & Leicester, then Abbey National, now known as Santander. With over 22 years of financial experience, Jas enjoys helping his clients to achieve their goals and plan for their future retirements. He has built strong relationships with his clients with his approachable, calm and friendly manner. Jas takes pride in the advice he gives and is always willing to go the extra mile to help clients achieve their objectives.
In his spare time, Jas enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is a keen Leicester City supporter and attends all home games with his son. Jas also enjoys cooking, travelling and exploring other cultures.
Ajay gained his financial advisory experience working at NatWest, Aviva and HSBC where he provided advice to both individuals and businesses. He has used this experience as a foundation to become an Independent Financial Adviser.
Ajay has been advising clients since 2007, creating long-lasting relationships built on trust and understanding. He believes that by getting to know his clients and their financial situation, he is best placed to help them achieve their goals. He has a passion for going the extra mile and really takes pride in his role as a trusted adviser.
Based on feedback from his clients, Ajay has been listed in The Times as one of the top-rated financial advisers in the UK for 2019, 2020 and 2021 something he is extremely proud of.
Outside of work, Ajay enjoys spending time with friends and family. He has a season ticket and regularly goes to support his local football team, Leicester City. He also enjoys playing golf, watching Formula 1 and listening to classical music whilst working.
Helen started working in Financial Services for Alliance & Leicester Building Society in 1994. During the 19 years that she worked for them, she had various roles as a cashier, mortgage administrator, mortgage adviser then a regional manager covering 40 branches in the Midlands area. It was whilst she was Branch Manager at Dudley that she decided to change direction and become a Financial Adviser. This enabled her to provide the one-to-one client service that she had missed. Helen became an Independent Financial Adviser in 2015 and now enjoys working with her own clients within this role.
Helen enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons walking, jogging and visiting different cities on holiday. She is passionate about music, having played in a band when she was younger and touring with them. Helen enjoys languages and can speak some Gujarati.
Bal has been a financial adviser for 21 years, working for Nationwide and Santander. The appeal of being able to offer independent financial advice led him to join Intelligent Financial Advisory Ltd. Bal enjoys offering his clients high quality, professional advice and expert guidance to ensure that any plans/policies in place remain as effective as possible in the future no matter how his clients’ circumstances may change.
Bal is currently working toward chartered status having recently completed the Diploma in Financial Planning Pensions exam.
In his spare time, Bal is a keen supporter of Liverpool Football Club as well as playing 5-a-side when he can. He’s looking forward to travelling more now his children are growing up.
Tania’s first job was as a Mortgage Administrator at Alliance and Leicester Head Office in Oadby where she worked for over nine years in various roles including Complaints Officer, Team Manager and Retention Officer. She gained her regulated qualifications and was offered a role with Barclays Bank where she worked as a Financial Planning Manager for four years. Wanting to explore the independent side of the business further, Tania joined Derbyshire Building Society who had a subsidiary IFA company. This secured her next role as an Independent Financial Advisor with HSBC where she worked for over 7 years looking after High Net Worth Clients followed by the title of Regional Retirement Specialist where Tania became a Pension Expert. Tania joined Intelligent Financial Advisory Ltd in 2018 as an independent financial adviser.
When she’s not working, Tania’s main passion is her family and spending time with them. They love travelling and have enjoyed amazing holidays in various parts of the world. She also enjoys entertaining and baking. Tania is also a Treasurer for the Thyroid Cancer Database Trust and is currently working with The Royal Marsden Hospital to update and build their database of thyroid cancer patients for research purposes. She organises regular events for them to raise funds.
William’s first job after leaving school was working for Lloyds TSB. He went on from there to have a successful estate agency career lasting for 18 years during which time he served in various roles as Branch Manager, Regional Manager and Trainer. This was followed by 3 years of business to business sales before a complete change of direction led to the commencement of a career in Financial Services as a Paraplanner. William was initially employed as a trainee for a small IFA practice, passing both the Certificate in Financial Planning and the Diploma in Financial Advice. He then moved to an accountancy practice and then to a wealth management firm.
In 2016 William realised a long-held ambition and set up his own outsourced paraplanning company which was when he first started working alongside Intelligent Financial Advisory Ltd. In 2020 he took the opportunity to join the company as an Independent Financial Adviser. This decision was driven by the opportunity to work with an experienced team whose views very much mirrored his own on how clients should be treated, approach to client care and ethical way of working.
William enjoys various hobbies. He and his wife enjoy walking their two dogs together. He is an Arsenal supporter, enjoys watching most sports, reading and listening to various types of music.
Kiran’s first job was as a cashier at Woolwich after graduating with a degree in Business with Marketing in 2002. Within a short space of time she gained her qualifications and became a Mortgage Adviser. Kiran then worked for Woolwich and Barclays for 7 years, where she gained a wealth of experience dealing with different clients. In 2009 she left to pursue a career in teaching before taking a break to have her son. She then joined Santander as a Mortgage Adviser from 2011 to 2014, after which she took time out to focus on her growing family. Kiran joined IFA in 2017 and became an Independent Mortgage Adviser in September 2018.
In her spare time, Kiran loves to travel with her family. They have visited countries all over the world; Mexico, Dubai, New York and Portugal to name a few.
Sarah joined Intelligent Financial Advisory as an administrator in 2018 where she uses her keen eye for detail and organisational skills to support the Financial Advisers. She previously worked as a volunteer Asset Manager covering the east of England for 3 years. This involved assessing buildings, drawing up scopes of work, liaising with planning officers and acquiring new plots of land. Sarah is an active member of the community and has gained various driving qualifications including telehandlers and dumper trucks, to enable her to volunteer on building projects throughout the country. In 2000, she gained her British Sign Language Level 1 and 2 and has enjoyed being able to use this to teach and translate since then.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys gardening, reading, music and going to classic car shows with her husband. She loves spending time with her family and young grandson. As someone who loves to learn new skills, Sarah has taken up many hobbies over the years including golf, studying nutrition and dress making.
Aarti started her financial career in 2001 and has gained a wealth of experience working for Alliance and Leicester (Santander) and HSBC in a variety of roles including Personal Banking Adviser, Mortgage Adviser and Financial Adviser. Aarti became a Financial Adviser in 2006 to broaden her advice proposition further. She has since built up a reputation for high standards of ethics, sincerity and trust.
Aarti joined Intelligent Financial Advisory in 2018 and works solely alongside Ajay Badiani, supporting him to provide the best client journey for his clients.
Outside of work Aarti enjoys spending time with family and friends, experimental cooking, walking and travelling.
Alison is using her extensive administrative and project management experience within her role as Sukhpal’s personal assistant. The world of financial services is a departure from her previous roles within engineering companies where she worked in data processing roles inputting data for mathematical computations. Alison is enjoying being able to utilise her organisational skills and keen eye for numbers at IFA.
Away from the office, Alison enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis and walking her dog in the local countryside.
In 2019 I graduated in Business from Nottingham Trent University. From 2019 – 2021 I worked in Sales for a technology wholesaler. I joined IFA in April 2021 and started studying with Skills Edge to qualify as a Financial Adviser. Whilst studying, I worked as a paraplanner for Sonni and Tania Assi. This has enabled me to gain valuable experience and knowledge in preparing reports, gathering information and liaising with clients.
I qualified as a Financial Adviser in April 2022, completing my exams within 8 months. I am proud to be the fastest candidate to qualify that Skills Edge have had.I now enjoy helping my own clients to realise their financial goals.
In my spare time I enjoy playing football for my local team Khalsa, going to the gym, travelling and spending time with my family and friends.
